Some chili recipes add beans and some don’t. Texans insist that beans are not an essential ingredient in their spicy mainstay. “If you know beans about chili, you know chili ain't got no beans,” claims John Raven. “It is a near hanging offense to serve up chili with beans in it down here in the Lone Star State.”

While competitive cook-offs produce great chili recipes, there's no recipe for good writing. Expert writers, however, agree on many of
the essential ingredients of good writing, one of which is sentence variation.
You can’t write something worth bragging about unless you use a variety of sentence structures.
